The hotel is owned and managed by the Solley family who have welcomed guests at Pitbauchlie since 1970.
Once a 4 bedroom country house; the hotel now boasts 50 en suite bedrooms, two restaurants and function facilities for up to 150 guests.
The name Pitbauchlie, like many of Fife’s place names is of Celtic origin. The "pett" which translates to "estate farm" occurs more often in the Dunfermline area, that any other area in Scotland. Thus, PItbauchlie translates to " …estate of the keeper of the bachall or crozier."
